The Security and Defence Days is the annual event on European and Transatlantic security promoted by the De Gasperi Foundation. After five editions, the initiative stands as an authoritative platform for high-level debate on the main strategic and geopolitical issues facing the European Union and NATO.
In light of the evolving global landscape, the 6th edition, co-organized with the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies, will feature a series of thematic conferences bringing together government authorities, decision-makers, officials, experts, and opinion leaders, who will focus particularly on Europe and on the key priorities shaping its agenda today in the security and defence field.
The proceedings of the first conference – “Europe and the New International Scenario” – will address Europe’s relations with the United States, China, and Russia, closely examining the U.S. foreign policy and its implications for the Transatlantic bond. The role of the economic diplomacy of the European Union will also be explored, alongside the new challenges and threats stemming from the Middle East and from emerging theaters such as the Arctic.
